Programming For Android

One of the things I have been interested in pursuing for a while is developing an application for the Android mobile operating system. I honestly can say that I have no ideas for a project yet, but that I want to begin with some basic tutorials and go from there. Hopefully I will be able to explore my creative side and think of a useful application that users will actually want to use. While the Android Market isn't as saturated with low-quality apps as Apple's App Store is, I want to take my time and actually develop a useful application.
To begin, I downloaded the Eclipse Development Environment, the Android SDK, and watched about an hour of YouTube video walkthroughs to set them up properly. I started with the basics: HelloAndroid was my first application, which worked without a hitch. I'll report back as I make more progress on my own application.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Matt Fuller, and I am a student in the networking administration and computer security field. Currently, I am attending Rochester Institute of Technology to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Networking and Systems Administration with a possible double major in Information Security and Forensics. I am passionate about technology, the Internet, computers, hardware, software, mobile, and pretty much anything else I find interesting. I am creating this blog to keep track of my interests, post useful information, and allow others to follow projects I am pursuing. Thanks for reading!
